I don't care for the term "black guns" either, however that is what the media is calling them here, and sometimes much worse. The uninformed are also telling the public that they're "machine guns."
The media has painted a sinister picture over the past couple weeks about the volume of sales of these firearms. In my opinion, there is nothing sinister, but simple economics at work here. #1) they may be banned shortly, and #2) the price will most likely go up dramatically, if they are not banned.
I own an AR15 and it has all but be banned up here already. The US export rules have restricted the sale of parts for any firearm so much that we have be realistically banned right now. This new move south of our border can only strengthen our plight.
Understanding wind currents and thermals in hilly, broken terrain can often be incredibly frustrating. I've found that collecting and storing milkweed seed pods during the late summer has made me a better hunter in the bluff country that I hunt. These little feather like seed dispersers will float on the lightest of air currents and will show you what the wind is not only doing right at you're location but more importantly down range. I like to use the off season to float them...
