Ok... I can already see this quiz is going to be open to some debate. The questions are all relative to where the individual hunter hunts. Here in SE Alaska for instance the best habitat for bear is a mixed forrest being as there are few areas you will find with just evergreens without alders and berries and a host of other veg. mixed in and there is lots of water everywhere. So the best answer for my area is #3.
That said, for the second question I am going wit #6. The best time in my area is relative to the time of year. Spring time you will find bear on the beaches eating grass off the flats, so I would bait/scout along a well used path to the beach. Summer finds them in the hills loking for berries which is also the only time bear season closes here in AK. From June to Aug. I would not scout at this time beacuse by the time season opens again in the fall all bear drop down out of the hills and are congragating on the rivers looking for fish. So the best place to scout is the rivers that hold fish, no baiting needed this time of year. Just find a fish hole and sit back and wait. Thumbs up
Thats my answer, mabey I read too far into this question, but that's how I scout here and it works for me. Thumbs up

I'll go for #6. I think the best time would be just before hibernation (maybe that's #4, i'm not sure exactly when they start sleeping) That way i'd have a good idea if bears are in the area when they come out of hibernation and have a buffet breakfast waiting for them Think

No 6 for me too. We have so many bears in this district that we could simply put out a bait and know its gonna be hit. Of course, we first take into consideration the terrain, mixed hardwoods, conifers, dry marshes, swamps, whatever. But we have a fall hunt, so I scout for stand locations only in the spring before the leaves are on so I can better see the ridges and valleys And if I was going into an area I didn't know, I'd use the same criteria.

Hey Redrider i did not choose option # 2 for the first question, actually #2 mean question # 2. i will fix that so ppl don't think the answer for question 1 was option 2

i will have all the correct answers at the end of the quiz

sorry about the confusion !

I didn't say that:

On the second question, in our situation, #5 would be the answer. We are in an area that we know bears are in, setup the bait, and put the smelliest stuff in we could find before the snow melted. Worked perfectly, and we got hit in just a few days, and have kept the bears there every since... (I know, I got this question wrong... But this is how we did it!!)
