Question # 8

You finally start ur hunt but the whole week of ur hunt turned out to be rain, storm, and ugly weather, with no where to go but wait on ur stand which one of the following options u expect yourself to be successful at tagging ur bear ?

1. wind
2. lightning and thunder shower
3. light rain
4. first few hours of passing rain
5. heavy rain
6. hot weather
7. none of the above

The correct answer is # 4 First few hours of passing rain
soon the storm passes u'd see them moving and hitting ur baitsite like never before ! especially the first few hours of passing storm.

Don't give up yet there buddy.
I think that Hotmoon is onto a good thing here He seem to have extensive knowledge of bears (esp in Alberta) and is more than willing to help out anyone who asks.

Fact of the matter is many/most of these questions are very area specific and to say there is one correct answer, well there may be a correct answer in the geographic area you are in but remember bears are wild animals and so are not inclined to always following the rules. I do not know anything about bears in Alberta. But I do know that the answer to many of these questions would be different in bears from Northern Quebec to bears from New York or Penn and both of these would be different for bears from the Carolinas south.

There is good info here but you need to be able to use what is pertenent to the area you are hunting in and then find some local experts to help you fine tune your tech

My 2 cents.

Thanks ADKBEAR , i could have not said it better myself !
all info whether u read it from books or the internet or u hear it from other bear hunters is to give ppl an idea and help them ,, the location may be different but the food and the behavior is the same.

many of the info here are of bear habitat that include hills, moutains and plains, that's why i said in one of the post if u don't have mixed forest that doesn't mean u don't find bear in other type of forest .

the first 8 questions were general info of bear habitat , it is to give ppl the IDEAL bear habitat and what bear do like and don't ,, many of the bear habitat described in the quiz also not found in my hunting area .
one of the guys said : " here in my area bears sleep under houses " which made me laugh but thats what ppl should pay attention to as well and know what this quiz is all about !

when we go outhere to know more about bears we go to different places and habitat and gather as much info as possible , at the end of the study our conclusion is based on what we saw and learned on that day .
for example we learned that bears in moutains are in greater number and bigger that of bears in plains or hills .
Again all info here are based on what type of habitat bears like the most, but that doesn't mean u will not find them elsewhere !

if i have continued with the quiz the questions would be more to bear hunting technique and bait station, etc.. maybe we can do that some other time .
