Humpin Buck what do you want to know about the deer?

Right now it is on the front cover of North American Whitetail

I was there and I am the one that set up the hunt. I know there is a lot crap rumors going around always is when some one else kills a big buck. Especially a non resident.

Believe it or not it was a swap hunt that I set up a couple years ago and I invited a friend from NY to come along.

he has 27 scorable points and is estimated to be missing about 20 inches of broken tines

Anyhow it grossed 285 3/8 and nets 269 1/8 still waiting the drying pperiod for offical score.

My friend Gerry who killed the buck is a Team Realtree Pro staffer check out some of his articles

HEY HEY!!! Great to hear from you! I know there usually is a bunch of crappy rumors that get started about things like this. I won't even humor you with what I've heard. I don't believe it anyway. Being a non-resident does make some people that much more irrational, but who cares. Those from KS that whine about it would shoot that deer, no questions asked, if they were in any other state....so to hell with them!!!

I did get a chance to read the article in the Topeka Cap. Journal that Redrider posted. It is a wonderfull story. I'll take a minute when I have time later today and read some of the links you sent. I think it's a wonderfull sucess story, and MAN......WHAT A DEER!!! Congrats to both him and you!!

So do you live in the Council Grove area?

I am from fort Collins, Colorado it was a swap hunt I set up a while back I know the land owner fairly well now and plan on going back. The rumors actually are the funny part now that the deer has had the same exact TRUE story printed in several publications it is just funny to listen to what these people keep saying it is very comical. It is on the front cover of North American Whitetail right now check it out.

Here are some better pics of the buck he is being offically scored for B/C in a couple of days should make the top 25 in the world as a non typical in Boone and Crockett

Notice the one of the sheds from last year

This monster deer was Killed opening day of the 2006 kansas Rifle deer season by Team Real Tree Pro Staff Member Gerry Rightmyer right now you can read about Gerrys hunt in The North American Whitetail Febuary issue

The deer and Gerry on touring Cabelas Gerry just did the grand opening at the St Louis MO store. And is scheduled to do more with Cabelas and Team Realtree which he is a prostaff member. Keep an eye for him and the deer to be at a Cabelas near you.

Here is a picture of the Buck mounted.

The sheds from the year before the deer was killed have been found and although they differ form when the buck was killed there still pretty amazing
