You'll find a number of different hunts. Let me do some quick translation. On page 34 you'll see the general hunts. The southern region is the best for the "Any Weapon" hunt. The archery hunt is statewide.
On page 35 you'll see the limited entry hunts. The Paunsaugunt is nothing short of world class. South Slope, Diamond Mt, Book Cliffs, San Juan Elk Ridge are all good units and I can put you in the right areas if you draw. Hard to draw tags though for those units. But if you start putting in now you can start building bonus points. If you don't draw a limited entry tag you get a bonus point and you can still get a general tag.
Obviously the limited entry units are better but there are still some good deer in the general hunts as well.
The draw opened up yesterday and goes through the 16th of Feb. Even if you aren't going to hunt Utah this year you should at least put in for the bonus point, it's only 5 bucks, and start building your points for the future.
