I just got an invite to Bow hunt tomorrow morning on a pretty good property. I’ll be hunting from a lock on overlooking a creek bottom. Here's the reality. I've let myself go physically. Put on 40 extra pounds since two seasons ago. My buddy has some older lock ons he still uses. Small tiny platforms. I wonder if they can take the 260 lbs I’m carrying. I'm still pretty limber for a bigger guy. Most think I only weigh in around 220. I have to tell you I put a TON of trust into my harness. Moving around in the dark getting that harness strapped in around the tree is nerve racking for me. Finally, when I sit down I breathe a sigh of relief. This year twice I've climbed into a stand and was nervous. I get to the point I have to lean out feeling that strap holding me back for comfort. It’s time to lose some serious weight and get focused about it. 205 lbs would be great. Can't be limited on where I can hunt from because I'm too big for a lock on.
