BGH Needs a New Writer for the Western Hunter Blog!

As many of you know, Mark Richman (exbiologist) wrote the very popular Western Hunter blog. We hate to close it down and would love to have someone step up and continue sharing information and insight into hunting out west.

We do offer a small compensation and ideally would like to publish 2 to 3 blogs per week. Contact us via PM or our contact form, and we'll send you more details about what we're looking for. If you have links to writing examples, please include.

Thanks!

He certainly did! But we're

He certainly did! But we're not looking for a clone of Mark, we understand that everybody has a different writing style. That person would need experience in how to find stats and info, then interpret it so common folks understand it.

I don't know if you will come

I don't know if you will come up with anyone with even half of the knowledge of the information that Mark had.  I know that I have tried to come up with some of the information that he had and I personally couldn't find it anywhere on the web.  That along with all the information that he had on his web site that he shut down made him a irreplaceable person for hunting information in my opinion.  Perhaps you might try and look for one or two people for each state or someone that has knowledge of hunting areas in a couple of states to fill his shoes.

I know that I know a lot about Utah along with quite a bit about Colorado and some about Arizona but not enough to really give someone real good information besides what I can do on the forum here.

That's a good idea Critter

That's a good idea Critter and something to consider. We're open to ideas, so keep them coming. Really don't want to see the Western Hunter blog end.

I agree with Critter, it's

I agree with Critter, it's going to be hard to find one all encompasing person.  Critter would be great for Utah and Colorado, as well as Quinton for Colorado.  Those 2 are full of knowledge.  I would volunteer to chime in on California, even though I am not too successful, I still know the state pretty well, and there seems to be a lack of other guys from here anyway, except Hoggetter.  He's got me beat though in the success department, by far.... lol

Smitty Seems to know New Mexico, and there are a couple of guys from Arizona.  Nevada might be a hole in membership, but there's gotta be someone there.

Seriously though, very big shoes to fill.  It will be an interesting search.

agreed.

I wouldn't mind chiming in with info on Oregon. I have been hunting here pretty much my life and know the hunting scene here pretty well.

Very tough to replace !

It will definitely be very hard to fill the shoes of Mark. He has an unsurmountable abundance of info and a nack for digging up stats as well as data. I just hope he can still find the time to share a couple things a year wether it is in the Western Hunting Blog or just in the forum.

Sean,

I appreciate you throwing my name in the hat, but I am only good for info, not stats, hunter numbers, and I have a much different hunting style than most (very aggresive). Also I just do not have the writting skills.

Good luck on finding someone, or many someones, and I hope the Blog does not get shut down.

Quinton

Well, we'd make a good team

Well, we'd make a good team then, cause I have a pretty decent writing style, but can't hunt worth a crap.  You have that part handled..... lol
