The buckhammers are a great slug and I have used them for a few years now. Last year I (Shotgun zone in NY) used the winchester 3 in. W/ the partition golds. Being a nosler partition fan all of my life I had to give them a try. Was very happy with the results and now have a new fav.
Good to see you back kicking around. Hadent seen much from you lately and thought you might have ventured off to new pastures?
Yeah I would much rather hunt with one of my rifels also but certin areas in NY (more Southern) are no rifle hunting. So in those areas I break out the Ithica 37 deerslayer and toss big bullets.
ADK good to talk to you again bro. Ya some places up here I think have laws like that but I dont hunt those but when the 12 comes out its the old winnie 1100 pump shes shoots as good as the day I bought it, But she gets a good work out in duck season up here. How you been whats new and no I won't ever leave BGH, To many good guys like you around.
Try to put your tree stand in a tree with plenty of background cover, keep the prevailing winds for that time of the year to your face, and take care of those pesky squeaks and creaks your stand may have developed while sitting in the shed. A good treestand lube can be made by heating petroleum jelly until it reaches a liquid form. Some hunters have reported success by including a cover scent in this mixture before applying it to their stands.
