I'll tell you what guys... I just bought a NIKON Prostaff 3x9x40. It only cost me $149.99 (actually, my wife bought it for me for an anniversary gift!). It is a great scope for the $$. I prefer the Leupold, but I like the price for that NIKON. It is very clear & crisp. It filters a ton of light too...
I agree with all of the choices all I am going to say is go with what you like and can aford thanks scott 8)
gotta love burris, and with a 55% discount off the wholesale price on burris products, i cant find a better scope for the price.
where are you getting 55% off?... i just might pick up another one...
yes where are yoiu getting 55% off I need two thansk scott
Leupold is always my first choice. After that, whatever I can find that looks good, has a decent reputation, and doesn't cost me any more than what a Leupold would.
My philosophy is this, I found something that works really good for me. If it works, don't try and fix it.
I have Leupolds on most of my guns, but last fall I got one of these http://www.schmidtbender.com/
Now I want more.
How much did you pay for those... the website looks good - but no prices...

It was about a grand. Next to Zeiss and Swaro, it looked nicer, and there's no comparison to my Vari-X IIIs. I also like that the reticle is on a different focal plane so it grows and shrinks when you change powers.
I really liked the flash dot capability... regular reticle and then you can throw up the red dot on a moving target or low light. Most of the shots down here in SD CA are on moving animals.
