Much cheaper to hunt here and we can do it without a guide,we have many states with the same class deer as Ontario. Most people base thier choice on price then quality of deer,if a person is willing to travel and can afford to hire a guide why not keep our money here in the US? Think

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of places are hot right now. But I decided that I was going to start a QDM program with fellow landowners, and hopefully in 3 years we'll be "growing" our own P&Y deer.

You know what I agree with that, Thats the Best place for P&Y deer. On your land, I think that harvesting a deer that you helped grow into a trophy would be more rewarding than traveling to the furthest reaches of the earth.

Pederson's hunting printed an article not too long ago and the author claimed that one of the best public hunting areas in the US for trophy whitetails is the Wayne National Forest in SE Ohio.

Sask. has BIG deer, probably some of the biggest in weight but that doesn't make the P&Y deer. Weight has nothing to do with it and antlers everything to do with it. Your deer in the central states may not be as big on the scales but rack size is where they pull away from our northern deer. That is not to say there are not P&Y deer up here or monsters down there it just depends what you want.

Are you referring only to eastern white-tails? Shame on You! If you're remotely interested in the Coues White-tails, drift on down to Arizona. The current world record P&Y typical and non-typical Coues white-tails are both from Arizona. Only seasoned and serious hunters need apply, as these white-tails are aptly named the "Elusive Greyghosts". These little trophies are well documented at crawling on their knees to slip and escape hunters. Talk about fair-chase!
