Best place to hunt Deer in Ontario

I am looking to book a hunting trip to Ontario next fall and was wondering where the best place to hunt is.

I would like to hunt in a remote area on public land. I like to track deer on the snow. Do many hunters track in Ontario or mostly drive and sit?

If anyone is interested in coming to Maine to do some hunting I'd be interested in bringing them if you help me out in your neck of the woods.

From what I've seen on the net it looks like Northwestern would be good. Is there good hunting in the eastern part or are the bucks smaller. Much shorter drive to eastern than the western part.

Thanks

ontario hunt

Hi

South Eastern Ontario is becoming a mecca for deer. Relatively mild winters, not much natural predation and very little pressure has resulted in increased seasons and multiple tags. Last season in the zone I hunted we were allowed 7 deer each. Unfortunately it is mostly all private land but the people are nice. We have some huge bucks here. Your right that north western Ontario has some huge bucks also.

i hunt southern easter ontario, just below bancfroft

there is alot of crown land in the area we hunt in, search highway 62 and highway 7 and take 62 north, u will find alot of hunting ground in this area two.

i only saw 6 deer in a week hunt here though :(

tracking is welcomed unless u come onto a camps domain, alot of camps in this area that have the ground stacked, but there are also alot of day hunter who drive out for the day

we all sit and wait, but we also have our positions set up as a line from marsh to marsh and all camps around us use dogs, so anything that comes wiht in this 5 mile line we have set up is dead

if u want more information i can do the best i can to inform you of the area give me a pm ask some questions what u want and stuff

Hi GripNRip

We have 200 forested acres south of Ottawa between North Gower and Smiths Falls, with deer, wild turkey and other animals. Unlike a lot of this area, we DO allow hunters on our land, write us at: biggamehunt@whitetails.ca

Northwestern Ontario Deer

Northwestern Ontario is probably one of the best Big deer hunting in the province.
Many trophy deer have been taken in and around the area I guide in. There are archery, muzzleloader and rifle seasons starting at the end of September and going until the middle of December. One of the reasons that the hunting upo here is better than in southern Ontario is that the hunting pressure is much lower and you can hunt public land without seeing any other hunters while you are out. Our camp is located on 200 acres of private land and is surrounded by miles of nearly untouched public land. e-mail my if you would like to know more.

Do yourself a favor and go to north western Ontario if you can!!!

bigger bodied deer, bigger racks, earlier snow fall since you like the snow and so do I.

and you can even make it a moose + deer trip since moose is open till dec 15th in some areas 2 for 1 deal.

It's far but well worth it !!!

Where I live in Ontario they don't allow nonresident deer hunting but check this outfitter out if your looking for a good trophy hunt.
