For me, staying warm starts with the feet first. I always wear a pair of white cotton socks followed by an oversized heavy wool sock. My Sorel insulated boots do the rest.

As someone said earlier, it's all about layering. Long underwear are a must. I follow up with a pair of jeans or hunting pants. A wool sweater or sweatshirt (depending on how cold it is) and my Scentlok coveralls are usually about all I need to stay warm. The Scentlok coveralls aren't very thick, so sometimes if it's really cold I'll wear a pair of insulated coveralls underneath...on those days I really have make sure I don't get too hot on the way out to the stand. I will carry them with me, usually.

Lastly, I always wear a camo hat/face mask and waterproof gloves.

If you want your feet to stay warmer get rid of wearing cotton socks.
Cotton holds moisture. Try wearing a pair of polypropolene socks that will wick the moisture off your feet.

Thanks for the tip. I just put polypropolene socks on my list of things to get for next season. Thanks again.

If you like your sorel boots try putting a layer of newspaper or cardboard between the bottom inside and the liner this will help insulate the soles of your feet.just enough that will fit with out making boot to tight and remember to take out and dry your liners.I work outside all winter and this does help
