Re: Beer Drinkers?

We finally have someone that carries Red Stripe here locally, and I was really excited to try some. For some reason it just didn't taste the same without the sand, sea breeze and shady palm tree! Dang... lol

Lately I've been a fan of Spaten Dunkel a German beer. Thumbs up

When I make it down to Grand Junction, the Kannah Creek micro brewery is one of my favorites! They make fun seasonal brews as well. Big smile

You should try Spaten Oktoberfest. Great stuff. It's only seasonal I think. I also like their Optimator (dopplebock), but it is heavy, a once in a while winter beer for me.

Sorry I have no pictures, but I know that some articles have been written about this seasons release. Google "AC Golden Winterfest". This year it was stocked next to the Blue Moon (another Coors product). I heard that not every liquor store got shipments of it. It was pretty limited and only distributed in Colorado as it usually is.

Back in the (very) early 80s I lived for a spell in Fort Collins. Use to drink Henery Weinhards (sp?) when we had cash and Little Kings (I think it was called) when we were low on big bills. They still got little kings? Havent even thought about that beer since I moved back east.

You wouldn't recognise Ft Collins today. In fact you'd be absolutely horrified at how much traffic there is now on I-25 between Ft Collins and the Denver metro area, even on a Sunday night.

Yeah Henry Weinhards is still around, but I hear that the brewery in Portland closed a few years ago. It's now contract brewed by both Miller Brewing and Full Sail Brewery. My wife is from Oregon and everytime we go out there you see Henry's in every store. It must just be distributed largly on the west coast. We see it here in Colorado, but not all that much. Out in Oregon all the Henry Weinhards products are available everywhere including their soda and softdrinks. Henry Weihrhards Private Reserve is pretty good. I'm not a big fan of any of their other stuff. I've never heard of Little Kings.

Great, another Coors fan!! I'm a big Coors fan too. Thumbs up

Yeah I recall seeing that generic "beer" brand in the grocery stores years ago. It was just called "Beer". Laugh Never had the pleasure of drinking any of it, but I do recall seeing it.
