Bear(s) Hunt September 4 2006

Hi Guys!

I am going after the 2 cubs my friend saw couple weeks ago. the deal I made with him is 2 bears or none . so if i get the opportunity to take both ( 1 for each kid ) i will take the shots , if not then no bear(s)

The area i am going to is a new area for me, but that's where he saw those bears so i am gona have to take him with me to show me the spot and go from there, i think i will have a good idea on where they may be once i get there and look around .
This hunt is for 2 days only so wish me luck !
i will post the story and pictures of the hunt when i come back. Thumbs up

trailcam
if u are really from alberta then u should know that under the law u cannot shoot any cub that is less then 1 year old.
these are no longer cubs, these are almost 16 months old bears that roam the forest on their own and they are LEGAL TO SHOOT !!

the word cub should not mean tiny little bear,, these bears are big and strong and called yearling cubs and should be in the 100-150 lbs category!

i said i was going after them on monday but that doesn't mean that i won't change my mind if they did not fit my moral standard.

nothing wrong with shooting yearling cubs, i never said it's wrong , i said i never done it before,, so nothing wrong with it and deffinitly not ilegal , so how about u relax and let me take it from here ?!

it's weird but i have a feeling that most of the new names belong to the same person Thumbs up

Good luck and enjoy your hunt!
These are the same guys that go and shoot the 50-65 pound small deer and then turn around and chastise you for doing the same thing just with a different critter!

What is nuts is that Ontario allows the taking of a cub in the fall hunt. That critter is of course less than 12 months old. Alberta seems to be a heckuva lot smarter when it comes to looking after its future populations.

What it boils down to Sawbill is yes it is legal to shoot cubs in Ontario BUT for the most part an EXPERIENCED hunter would know the difference between a cub an adult bear. Therefore...the cubs would be safe in our camp and yours I'm sure. For someone to screw up and shoot a cub is one thing but to put a post up about it and get the negative responses that were posted and then up and do it...well, all I can say is common sense must have not made it to that part of the bush yet. Then....he's going to brag about it and post pictures of cubs???

yep, I have to agree with you NonTyp. If someone came to me with that request, I'd tell him to do his own dirty work. I know I couldn't do it.

hotmoon, go after 'em. They are just going to finish growing into another predator. Like was said, they aren't little bitty bear cubs.

Hotmoon why would you post this??????? After all the feed back you got from your "need help" post. None of it was positive for hunting these cubs. And yet you are going to hunt them and post about it, did you expect cheers? Seems to me the only reason to post this is to stir up trouble and that will not be looked upon kindly here!
There seem to be no laws being broken or I would have deleated this whole topic.
