The Bears Are Getting Restless Again

I just read had heard about this attack in Grand Teaton National Park.  At first I didn't know that there was a limited elk hunt that was going on inside the park but the story confirms that there is one.

So many bear attacks this

So many bear attacks this year. The animal rights guys must be having a field day with all of them, saying it's karma or something......

bear hunt

critter, arenmt you slated for a brown bear hunt coming up?  i'm looking forward to hearing about that!    anyways, i can believe the frequency of bear attacks. people are getting so out of contact with nature, they don't know how to behave when they're outside.

Six months from today I will

Six months from today I will be two days into my hunt in British Colombia for a grizzly and black bear.  I have my reloads about 90% done on where I want to be as far as velocity but need to tweak them a little bit this spring.  Also when ever I stop in a sporting goods store I pick up little things that I need to take with me and put them into the box that is collecting the goodies until I head up there.

The big thing that I need to find is a partner that I can out run just in case.  Whistling

I am planning on using my

I am planning on using my .340 Weatherby with 225 grain Barnes TSX bullets at around 3,000 fps for the grizzly.  In the last couple of weeks I have also been thinking about taking my .357 Herrett Thompson Center Contender for the black bear.  If I take it I'll be shooting a 200 gr Sierra at around 2,000 fps.

Decisions decisions.
