....A little bit of lead !.....welcome to BGH hope you enjoy it as much as I do . If your baiting for deer once you start getting bears there's not a lot you can do that I know of to keep them away , I've heard of spreading coarse salt around on the ground around the apple pile, that they don't like it on there pads but never tried it !

I think, depending on how far north you are that bears will shortly be looking to den up. While still a nuisance around a baitsite, their feeding binge should be almost done It wouldn't surprise me to see them gone by the end of October.

I was still seeing bear in mid november last year and got one on Nov 5th....last week temp's were in 23c range and a couple were 30c so i wouldn't count on it !

I agree with you Rat but we're starting to see snow already and the north just got dumped on the other day. I don't expect it to stay on the ground but thats sure incentive for bears to start thinking of hitting the sack for the next 3 months or so.

I'm still seeing them and we've had a little bit of snow but nothing atall to worry about today it was the high 20's I think, very nice day . As of yet I havent seen one Moose they seem to be moving lots of fresh scat and tracks just couldnt catch up to them.
