Bear Load Sight In

Well, I just got home from the firing bench and I believe that I have my final load built up for my upcoming bear hunt the end of May.  I'll be shooting a .340 Weatherby with 225 gr Barnes TSX bullets at 3000 fps.  I personally think that it will get the job done. 

Here is the target after 11 shots.  Both at 100 yards and then at 200 yards with a 200 yard zero.

But now you won't have any excuses to blame on the rifle so you better come home with a good one

There is always a way to make

There is always a way to make a excuse on why the shot doesn't go as planned.  The sun got in my eyes, the wind blew me over backward, the wind was swirling too much, a tree grew up right in front of the bear as I pulled the trigger, and a whole lot more.  I have always figured that if I can see the animal then I shouldn't have any problems as long as I do my part.  Most of my misses can be attributed to that part or the best excuse that I have heard, "I screwed up".

Nice groups, I would say dead

Nice groups, I would say dead bear as long as you don't get "Bear Fever" or that tree does not grow up in front of you. Good luck.
