Nice bear! Did you shoot it?

A great photo for novis bear hunters to look at in terms of judging animal size. This can be difficult for somone who has no experience hunting or seeing bears. Look at how far apart the ears are and how small they look compaired to the head. Just looking at the head I would call this a shooter hands down. Do you know how much it weighed and/ or what the skull measured?

Nice bear. The photo description says 500 lbs. sounds about right to me or even a bit more.

great bear! It doesnt look 500 from the pic, but the head definitely shows it is a mature bear.. Very blocky..

Ears are the best way to tell from my experience... I would shoot a bear that size every day of the week. A black bear that size is a trophy no matter how many bear you kill..

Congrats again on a great animal Thumbs up

Is that 500 lbs an estimate from a guide? To me, it doesn't look more than 400 lbs. But it is still a whopper bear. Congrats.

Maybe Ed is a VERY large man, making the bear look smaller Think
