The sunsets took me by surprise. Though I've seen photos of sunsets, I was amazed at how beautiful they were to see in person.

Don, I'm assuming you no longer own the property in the Keys. We glanced at property prices and I don't think we'll ever be able to afford anything down there, unless we win the lottery! Florida property prices are prohibitive, especially in the Keys. I believe they're worse than here in Colorado.

Cowgal , Did ya get to eat any of the barracuda . I have never eaten fish from away so I would have to try just one to see what their like . Was it all H & R and couldn't keep any . The Pics speak for themselves . I bet that was a trip of a lifetime

DenverdOn, yes we did spend a couple days in Key West but did not do the Mallory Square sunset events. Next time!! We stayed on Cudjoe Key, and usually by sunset time we were back at the cottage fixing some fresh fish for dinner!

Thenail, no we did not eat any of the barracuda. We've heard they're edible but most people do not recommend eating them. Last year we ate the redfish we caught and had we caught some sizeable snapper, would have eaten them too. There was a fresh seafood market within a mile of our cottage, so we simply purchased local fresh catches everyday. Very yummy indeed! We also tried some alligator and frog legs, which I had never had before.

I was told alligator was very tasty!

Alligator was interesting, definitely did NOT taste like chicken.

We only had it for one meal, and I found it to be rather tough & grissly in texture. But the flavor was mild. I would definitely try it again.
