Baits

That is really not feasible. I would have to dig out 75 lbs of bait out of a 12 x12 hole in a sealed 55 gallon drum. I might think about just filling the bait barrel in the mornings and not the evening. I am going to try some diffrent scents and only break them out when I am sitting on the bait site and see if that works. Anyone have any magic scents they would like to share whit me?

Try cotton candy perfume at the wal mart in the kids section . Has a very sweet smell . I tried it on my snare set but nothing yet . Since the first of Oct . But nothing else has beeen working either . The apples are very scarce where I have my snare . Nothing to bring them to that area this year . Sooner or later they will pass through . I usually connect one around the 23rd to the 28 . I caught 3 over the years in that same area on my daughter's birthday . The 25 th of Oct .an odd one on the 23rd and an odd one on the 26th . . There is another sent that the wal--mart has . In the same section ,,it's vanilla sugar body lotion .that has a powerful sweet smell as well .

Thenail: A snare? For what?

No frenchy, she buys them at some store. She has all different kinds and they reek. They come in 5 packs of all different berry scents, I think she might have bought them at sears. They are a body spray she buys. It has field berry, mixed berry, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and probably more I dont know about. I use chocolate spray and Chocolate syrup. Ive tryed others but nothing works as well. When they come they either go for the tree its on or the baitbox. Usually while they are eating though, they check out the smell.

I hunted over a bait that consisted of Donuts and candy bars this year and got a nice 200 pound boar. If you have any donut shops or bakery's in your area check with them and see what they do with their old donuts and pastries. I've got a couple places that leave stuff out for me and I pick it up on my way home from work. Good Luck......................

I do pretty much the same as you though but I go to the butchers and local meat cutters.

In my earlier posts too I read them and they sound like Im being rude. I assure you I'm not trying to sound rude if I do.

And as for using those things as bait, they are great if your aloowed give er. Those two baits should get you alot of hits, but try mixing it up a bit you have to keep em comming in. Thumbs up
