I usually call them as a last resort, you will usually see a game warden out and about and ive found they are way more informative and for the most part more curtious, as many of them are also hunters and fishermen

I have found that a couple of the wardens ive dealt with tend to side with intent when there is a question, Im sure not all do but i know when there is an issue most of the time honesty and common curtiousy go a long way

i think you should be able to hunt with any type of calls because if you dont use an ecall then it does take some sort of skill to call one in without an ecall but if you dont have that skill then i belive you should be able to use and ecall.WSDFW say its up in the air for next year on using ecalls. i think that they should let the hunters vote. write back and let me know how you think they should decide that law.

that is my thing.. wardens are the really opinion that matters and they know the laws and what you will get cited for and all that. so i will be getting in touch with a warden i personally know and get his opinion will let you know asap what i find out

Most of the time when you call the state they tell you the letter of the law and when you talk to wardens they will tell you the spirit of the law which sometimes is a lot different

Nice try! I have ran into a few that don't know the laws that well. One example is a gamie that could not tell the difference between a Cabazon and a Lingcod. Big differences, plus one has a size limit that could lead to fines or charges.

It seems that if you baited in mid winter they couldn't accuse you of baiting for bears. The furs would be better that way too.

What I want to know is whether a bait pile will get a cougar coming back repeatedly or if it would just be coons and coyotes.

cougars perfer FRESH kills and perfer to do it them selfs

i have had more gut piles consumed that night by cougars than anything else, I think ive only had one that was still there in the morning all the rest have cat tracks all around, I think that they eat what they can get personally. I know about a 2 years ago we got done cleaning the deer and got the deer back to the truck and my buddy forgot his knife there, so we walked back into get it, probably not the smartest thing ever but we had only been gone for about a half hour but sure enough there was a cat right there on it we would have shot it but it was dark but i dont think it saw us. We went back in the morning gut pile gone no cat anywhere.
