Backyard visitor

Got this email this morning about a visitor to my Dad's backyard. He lives in Vermont, and about 50 feet into those trees is a railroad track where it turns from village to town land.

He said funny thing is, he was going to buy a turkey tag last night and go into the woods this morning for his first time ever turkey hunting, but he decided against it....

Said it was a lone hen. I told him this evening to throw out a call or 2 right at sunset and see if anything is roosting out in the back yard.

Sometimes the backyard can

Sometimes the backyard can turn into one of the best hunting spots ever. Unfortunately I am unable to fire in my backyard as the neighbors are to close but in the last year I have seen many deer including a couple of good bucks, one black bear, and just this week a family of foxes showed up again for the first time in a couple of years.
