Back in the woods again..

After a few years aways from this and other hunting sites plus not being able to hunt, I am happy to say that i will be back in the woods again this year. Went dove hunting Sept 3rd to get things started. On Sept 24th i will be in the stand with the bow to help control the deer population. Glad to be back doing what i enjoy,

Tom

Congratulations and good luck!

Good luck on your hunts this year.  Congratulations on getting back out there!  Don't forget to check back in and let us know how your hunts go.

How did the dove hunting go for you after so long a break?

I did not get a doe tag this year but I am looking forward to chasing mule deer in October and white tail deer in November this fall.

Are you planning on chasing deer with firearms this year too?

Welcome Back!

I too am getting back out in the environment I favor after a too long of a break. Enjoy your time out and have fun. Good luck with your hunting, but for me, if I fill the freezer or not, time out in nature is what it's about for me.

That's what I like to see!

That's what I like to see!  Glad to see you are getting back into the woods.  In the daily grind of our lives, there sometimes can be nothing better than sitting in a tree, just you and the woods.  Heck, even without shooting anything, it's often the best day I've had in awhile.

How did the dove hunt go, BTW?  I didn't get to go this year, but I sure saw lots of them around.  My buddies that did go had alot of fun, as usual.

Good to see your able to get

Good to see your able to get back into it. I can't imagine having to quit for even a year for any reason but I know sometimes other things in life get in the way. Good luck on your hunts and let us know how you do.

Welcome Back

Welcome back and glad to see your getting back out in the field. Due to being station overseas I have felt the pain of not being able to hunt for two and once a 3 year span. The drive and love of the sport never died but the opportunity/availability was not present. Glad to say I should make it home this year for 3rd season elk/deer. Good luck and let us know how you do with the bow.

good luck

Glad to hear you will be enjoying the woods again! I, too, lost many seasons in my former career (deployed overseas for about 8 years). I have done my darndest to make up for that lost time since my retirement. That's how I justify it to my wife anyway...lol.   Thumbs up

Good to hear your able to

Good to hear your able to make it back out. Good luck on your hunts this years and years to come. Like Goose said this has been a off year. but this is my 2nd year of bow hunting so I guess last year was a bit off to learning a new hunting style. I hope to tag out on a big buck come Nov when I can chase those blacktails when there rutting.

It's good to be back in the woods

I too went several years while in college and grad school where I really didn't have the time to get out hunting much.  I managed to get some hikes and climbs in, but really just quick day trips--no extended trips at all.

I can't tell you how great it was to get back out in the field hunting again.  It was definitely a first love rediscovered for me.  And lucky for me it was Colorado where I ended up.  Hope your return to the hunting woods is as good as mine was.
