Back country Bow Hunting

I'm planning a backpacking trip next year and was recommened to read Cameron Hanes book. I got it today and started reading it tonight. so far its a great and knoledgeable book. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in doing wildernss back country hunting

I have been really wanting to do a back country hunt...I might just have to pick that book up!  Thanks for the info.  Let us know how the book is once you get a little deeper into it.

Thanks numbnutz I have been thinking about getting that book but most definately will now. Are you planning on backpacking in Starkey next year?

Nah not the starkey. I'm gonna do a 10 hunt in the eagle cap wilderness. so far I'm going solo but my brother might pull his head out of his rear and come with. I plan on going in the catherine creek unit hik in 10-12 miles and set up camp, I got some real good advice on where to go from a friend on another forum

Eagle Cap Wilderness that's

Eagle Cap Wilderness that's in the Hells Canyon area in northeast Oregon correct? If it's the same place I'm thinking of heard lots of good things about that area

You are correct. There is some amazing hunting up there and some beautiful country. I really cant wait.

Keep us posted how your backpacking trip turns out. I'm in the works of trying to figout if I can pull one off for my wilderness moose hunt. But we'll see and I'll keep you guys posted how that turns out.

I sure will. its gonna be in 2011, but I'm already excited and in the planning stages. looks like my brother wont make it so I'll be going solo unless i can find someone else to come with

I agree that it's an incredible book.  I bought it a few years ago and have read it cover to cover multiple times.  He does an incredible job making it fun to read, I actually can't read it without getting all syched up!

I had to order mine too. I went to 4 different book store and it was sold out, so ordered it from cabelas 5 days later it showed up.
