It is funny because she is a super animal lover. She wants to be a vet and help animals, but she is willing to go turkey hunting because there are lots of them and you get to eat them.

Deer she will eat, but she doesn't want to hunt them.

It should be a good time. We are looking forward to it.

It's funny that you said that. My oldest daughter is the same way. She loves animals, has had 25 to 30 pets through the years but also likes to hunt deer (hates turkey hunting though) Shes planning to be either a vet or work in the wldlife management field.
My 10 year old is planning on her first hunt ever. April 21 for turkey!!!!

Well it is the morning of our hunt. We'll see how it goes and if she wants to go again.

Back home, no turkey but a good time. They were gobbling, saw a few hens, but couldn't get anything to come in. Saw a deer too.

The blind is the ticket for taking a young child hunting. My daughter was really good, but like any kid she squirms, talks a little, eats and plays game boy to pass the time.

She had a good time and was really good. She wants to go again so that is a good sign.

The blind worked well. Easy to set up and take down.

Good for turkey hunting, but I doubt that I would opt for the blind over a tree stand for deer. Too many blind spots with the blind. Still, it was nice because it kept the wind off of us.

Sounds very successful if she's ready to go again Yes You're right, those blinds are Great for taking the kids.

I sent a buddy out to one of my spots, it was his first time hunting turkey with a bow. He had about a doz. hens come in and couple Toms. He missed 2 shots fairly close, but I guess those Toms really put on a show. Fighting, struttin', drummin', and gobblin' all @ 15 yds.

I went up in the afternoon but didn't have a chance to setup. Did hear a gobbler and some hens over the ridge from where I was fishing though Big smile I LOVE this time of the year Yes

Yes, a great time of year.

Beautiful day out today - wish I was out hunting today instead of work.

Mike, he really wants to go but I think scouting is going to have to be good enough for him for a couple more years.....he is only 4!
I took my 10 year old out scouting on Saturday and didn't find any sign where I was hoping it would be so, I went off looking for some! An hour later I could see by the look on her face that she wasn't having nearly as much fun as me eye roll lol .......I took her back to the truck and brought her out for lunch to salvage the day. I think I will need to break this one in slowly.
