Wow, you're doing good on the draws, LOL. I pulled a rifle Bull this year for Oct., and by buddy drew the same for late November/Dec. I usually get to go each year, but don't always have a tag myself. The family and hunting partner all put in separately, mixed archery and rifle, and usually somebody gets lucky so we can go have fun, ha! We've been camping/hunting in the same spot now for around 25 years up there.

A couple of years ago I went with my friend for a late hunt and got snowed on etc. It got really cold too after a couple of days, and I about froze my tail off. A lot of trees were loaded with ice along the roads etc. I have to admit I could have been bettered prepared for that, but survived and had fun hunting with him anyway. This year I'm bringing everything warm on his hunt, LOL.

I don't mind the snow either, think it is beautiful, etc.; continual rain bothers me more. Also been by myself for 10-12 days in the woods... I love it. On that trip with my friend above, he brought some kind of small propane heater that wasn't worth 2 cents, LOL. You had to be around two inches from it, and it didn't do squat. We had built up frozen beads of condensation on the canvas roof the whole time, ha ha. Those wood stoves are great, and I was on a hunt in New Mexico once where the guy had a nice big wall tent and one of those in it. Luxury... ha!

I/we always apply for only unit 5A, cow or bull, archery or rifle... doesn't matter. I've gotten to know my areas so well, I just keep putting in for there. Usually no problem finding Elk either, and have seen some real bruts over the years, but a cow is fine with me.

I used to hunt in 35b for Coues, near Patagonia area. I still put in for the December hunts there in fact when they have them, but it has been a few years now since I was there. I think they are tough little buggers to hunt comparitively, and the terrain pretty rocky and tough too.

LOL... I hear ya'. I hope you like it here.

We may not have the numbers of animals like some states have in deer and such, but we have a good variety of different game. That goes for country/terrain too, from tall mountain pines to beautiful desert and inbetween, all with something to offer in hunting and all. Lots of public land as well, so we like it here anyway... Wink

Sometimes the summer heat kicks my butt, but hey, every place has something a bit bothersome at times... Ha!

I didn't know that... interesting. I wonder how all the states match up on diversity of game, etc. I've only hunted big game in another state once (NM), other than that it has been here in AZ; except for some rabbits when young in California.

I do wish it was easier to do some ocean fishing though... Laugh
