With the recent fires in AZ I just thought I'd chime in here. The big one, Wallow Fire, has hit one of the state's premier elk hunting locations. There are lots of rumors flying around, as to death and destruction, but also reports that are encouraging for future elk hunting in the state of AZ. I think it's too early to tell yet what the short-term effects will be, but I do think the long term effects of the Wallow Fire will be beneficial.
The Murphy Complex Fire has hit one of the state's best Coues Deer areas, thanks to illegal aliens. It too may have short term negative impacts with long term beneficial consequences. I'm in hopes that it removes cover that the illegals use, and forces them to go to another sector, as it can be downright dangerous to hunt there, with the human and drug trafficers and the bandits that prey on them. If anyone wants a real 1800's adventure, hunt in that area.
