Australian Twins Shot At Cherry Creek Shooting Range

Here's the link. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/11/16/ap/national/main7060945.shtml

This is wierd. They don't even know which one died and which one is in the hospital. They were here on cultural visas. There is some big pieces of this puzzle missing.

There are going to be

There are going to be questions on this one for a long long time.  I just hope that the news reports what they find happen instead of just reporting the sensation of it happening and then never reporting about it again.  Or being like a news paper and sticking it on the back pages somewhere.

But what ever happened it is a sad time for one family.

Wow, interesting for sure.  Don't know if we'll ever know what happened.  Too bad.

When I saw that on the news I

When I saw that on the news I was shocked.  I used to shoot there alot when I lived in Denver.  It always seemed like a real safe place to shoot so I was shocked to hear that it happened there.

It was a .22 that they used

It was a .22 that they used to shoot themselves.  Police conducted a search of their hotel room and found clothes, bags, money, cell phones and a lot of news clippings on Columbine high school and the shooting that occurred there.  Not sure why they had it and it doesn't sound like they planned to shoot anyone other then themselves.  I feel horrible for the parents of these twenty nine year old sisters.

Yeah this has turned out to

Yeah this has turned out to be a pretty strange story. I have also shot their many times and I agree... it always seemed like a very safe place to shoot. I guess there have been 2 or 3 other shootings at that same place over the last few years. It just seems very strange that people go to shooting ranges to kill themselves. I understand that some of them are going there to rent a gun to use but the article I read that some of the suicides there had been committed with people using their own guns. And why would you go to a shooting range to rent a gun and do it anyways. Are people in that state of mind still worrying about spending money. Why wouldn't they just go put it on a credit card and buy their own. It just seems wierd to me. I understand that people that have hit that point are not really running off of logic but I just don't get it.

I suspect that someone would

I suspect that someone would rent the gun because they can get it quicker and easier than having to purchase one.  In the case of the twins, they have figured they couldn't buy one since they were not citizens and renting was an option available to them.

I do agree that killing yourself at a gun range is a very odd place if you own your own gun.  Why not do it at home instead of traveling to the range?  I guess we have to remember that these people are not at a good state in their life and are not thinking rationally so it is no wonder they do things we don't undertand.

i really feel for the surviving sister and the family.

I still can't imagine why

I still can't imagine why someone would want to do this. Also the method they took to do so is crazy. You would think that they would have thought about how it would affect others that were involved in a way. I couldn't imagine being the person who rented them the gun. Not that they knew what was going to happen, but the terrible memories one would have. Truely sad.
