Attracting pigs from 5-6 miles away?

I've got pigs that roam in the mountains about 5-6 miles up from me.  They've come nearby about 9 years ago and havn't come back since.  I believe it's due to the number of dogs and houses in my area compared to what they get on top of the mountain.  Yesterday, I threw down 22 pounds of barley seed in my apple orchard in an attempt to help attract pigs when the weed ripens.  I'm thinking about filling some barrels with corn and dumping yeast, bear, jello mix, ect and placing the barrel down in the canyon.  I'm hoping the upwind in the cayon would blow up the mountain in their direction.  Anyone have some advice or suggestions they would like to share?
