Anyone Minding this SITE????

I am having a problem with replying to post. It seams like it has happened after the site was down for the weekend back in July. At times when I reply to a post I'll get a tool bar right above the reply to box but about 90% of the time I don't get a thing. Also when I do get the tool bar the reply box is quite a bit larger than it is when I don't get the tool bar. Also as in now while I am typing this there is no tool bar at the top of the box to where I can insert a link, change the font, use a bold type and the rest of the options.  It happens on both IE and Fire Fox.

Below are a couple of screen shots of what I am talking about. One with a tool bar snd one without it.

It's been tough getting ahold

It's been tough getting ahold of moderators, but I am not going to knock them.  Tought time of year, when everyone is getting ready for the seasons.  I notice every day that there are spammers though, and I keep reporting them.  It'd be nice to know if the "Flag" button actually works though, maybe a little feedback.

Oh, and Critter, you get that screen just because nobody likes you..... Wink

lol

Interesting problem.  Don't think I have seen that happen with mine.  I will keep an eye out thaugh.Maybe it's not loading all the way?  I notice that tool bar is the last thing to load on my screen when I hit "Post a reply"

No problems at all with mine

No problems at all with mine either. And actually I have not seen the spammers that you guys are seeing.

Unless your talking about hunt adds but at least those aren't as bad as some of the stuff in the past.

They're very crafty, and easy

They're very crafty, and easy to miss.  What they are doing is attempting to post a legitimate reply, but you can tell it's random talk.  Then, you will see an embedded link in the thread, usually for handbags, other websites, etc.  The handbag one has been a recurring thing though lately.....

Here is a prime example.  Look at this thread, and the only 2 replies are both Spam.  I left them and did not "Flag" them, so you could see what I mean.

They both make an attempt at sounding like a legitimate post, but see the links?  One for bathroom faucets, and one for Invoice discounting.

The "Thomkinswesley" went on to add another reply here, with a link to designer clothing...

Just look at the new members each day.  Most of the names are gibberish, unlike the cool names that have to do with hunting, like Hunter25..... Wink

lol, yup I missed those. I

lol, yup I missed those. I was just looking for actual new threads being started. Do they really think some guy interested in an elk unit or something is going to suddenly loose his mind and get an irrational urge to buy purses?

And btw I have often wished I had been more creative with my user name but threw it up there when I first joined to make a quick response to a post somebody made or ask a question or something. The 25 was because of something I read in a magazine when I was a kid that the average hunter would kill 25 deer in his entire life. Some states it's a low number now and in others still a lofty goal.

I have no idea what I would choose anyway though.

Actually, names like yours

Actually, names like yours are good.  At least people can tell you are a hunter, and not a random person signing up for the site to Spam it or something.

Here's another trick they are using.  Today's "Newest member".  No posts, but look in their profile on this page.  Anyone need a marriage visa for their Fiance????? lol

And here's a good one.  Spam on top of Spam..... lol

I guess that when the site is

I guess that when the site is as slow as this one has been lately any post is a good post even if it is a spammer. Confused

In the last month or so,

In the last month or so, those type of posts really have picked up.  Those posts really irritate me, so I flag them as soon as I find them.

As for the usernames, I do like many of the usernames on this site.  For Ca_Vermonster, I figured that one out after reading enough of your posts.  For Hunter25, I was curious if the "25" had any signifigance.  Since I am at 4 deer lifetime, I think 25 deer would probably be solid accomplishment for me.
