I hadn't seen this thread until now and it is quite humorous. I agree that it doesn't seem legit, but who knows. I had a woman in the military wanting to know how to get venison in KS. Seems that is all her cat could eat and she was being transferred to KS from another state and wanted to secure a supply. I hooked her up with some places that sold domestic venison, but told her to contact hunters as they are pretty generous and might help too. I mean I'd be willing to give a military person some of my ground venison for their cat even though I might think it silly. I figure if she is willing to serve to protect my freedoms, I am willing to overlook it being for a cat.
What is up with her cat? I have never heard something like that. If I was ever to own a cat (WHICH I WON"T) I think I would only feed it deer meat and I would die it to look like a mountain lion. That thing would be a monster. HA
I agree with you, that would be a great way to say thanks to someone that has served our country in that way.
I forget teh exact medical condition it had, but it had some problem that required only deer meat. Yeah, I know, sounds hokie. Oh, and don't say you'll never own a cat. Some sweet young lady catches your eye one day and she says, oh, but Hawkeye, don't you love my liddle sweet mr. pumpkin too? And you're going to say uh huh I do 
I do agree I wouldn't own one by choice. Give me my dogs.
