You'll have to go practice out by Clinton Lake. They have a pond next to the lake that they stock with trout. Can't say I've ever tried, but would like to try it someday.

The guy I'm going hunting with is a fly fisher. So, he wants to do some in WY when we're there.

I found a complete outfit at Dicks for $40. Of course its not top of the line, but this might be the only time I fly fish, unless I get hooked (pun intended).

Whatever you do, do not get discouraged. It takes time, but it is well worth it. It brings fishing and yourself to new enheightened level. Remember this: try to keep your wrist straight, use your forearm for the casting, and try to keep your upper arm parrallel to the ground/water. This will save you some strength when it comes to hours on the water. Good luck! It is so much fun.

Thanks - I think it will be fun.

A guy lent me a tape on fly fishing. Of course, I had to go in the basement and dig out the VCR and hook it up. We only had DVD players connected to our tvs.

I ordered a fly rod and reel today. I'll have to practice in the backyard some before my trip in October.

Thumbs up I still cast in the backyard. Make sure your start without a leader to get use to the line. Then add on about four feet of leader. Then six. Then add a small piece of yarn for a fly. Get use to that. When you get comfortable, go for the longer leaders.

Ok - I'll take your word, but I am not sure why? Think
