Anyone chasing CO mulies with a smokepole this weekend?

It starts this weekend. My work schedule is going to work me over pretty hard on this one. I have to work from noon-5 on weekends and 7-noon on weekdays with school from 1-4. I am only going to be able to get out in the weekend mornings for first light and head down the mountain by 9:30. It is gonna be a tough hunt. Lots of driving back and forth.

Anyone else getting out there?

Thanks. I'm gonna need it

Thanks. I'm gonna need it with my work and school schedule. I'm gonna be doing a lot more driving than hunting.

Driving? I thought you would

Driving? I thought you would have a bull to setup on just outside the park; with all the work you've doing there this summer LOL

If only that was the case. I put in for tags in early spring obviously but didn't work in the park till the summer. If I did have a unit 20 tag, I would be set. I'm hunting a different area though.

Yes

Indeed! Getting ready as we speak. Making sure all our gear is in order vehicles gassed and ready. I've got a mulie buck tag and a bear tag. My uncle is packing a buck deer and bull elk tag and my dad's got a bull elk tag. I'm heading up first thing tomorrow morning to be able to hike up and glass and see what's  cooking before opening day. I've also got a turkey tag and we saw em up there last trip so might give me a chance to fill that tomorrow. Gosh darn I love this time of year!

Good luck to everyone hitting the smokepole season this weekend.

muzzy season

Ya i am packed and ready,i have to take my son to his physical therapy/chemo treatment early in the morning which works well because it is in grand junction and i need to pick up the wall tent there as it was in getting a new zipper.the wife also ordered me some new camp slipper boot things i need to pick up from cabelas.i havent been there yet so it will be hard not to look around. hopefully i can get to camp by four or five.I am meeting my dad and two bros and we all have a buck tag and one bear tag.were huntin gmu 38 which is always interesting dealing with all the front range jeep clubs, hikers, ect.pretty limited on places to hunt in this area but the high country is beautiful this time of year and it always seems to hit me just right and sooth my soul, cant wait.good luck to everyone and will be reporting when i get home.

Oh and rediculously good

Oh and rediculously good news!!! Thanks to a good coworker I have been afforded the opportunity to hunt this weekend. I am actually going to get two full days of hunting without having to drive back for work. It is only two days but after all the driving I had planned, it feels like a 7 day horseback hunt.

I am about to finish packing and take off. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
