anyone archery hunt Utah's extended season in the Wasatch

I have never hunted North of the La Sal's by Moab. And never in the late season. I wasn't able to spend a lot of time this season in the La Sal's due to issues at work, and my freezer is empty! I was looking for any information from fellow hunters that hunt there and know the area to give me a starting point of referance. I dont have the money to miss work and spend the time I would like to hunt it the right way. I will be doing a 2 or 3 day hunt out of my pickup truck. I don't mind hunting hard. I just dont want to waste what little time I have. I am a meat hunter, so I am not looking for anyone's honey hole to return to and take their spot or their animal(bull). Just meat for the family. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Roy.

I didn't realize that I forgot to put what animal! I am hunting for cow elk. And the homework part is what I was unable to do this year. I did the homework for the other area thinking I was going to spend all my time there. But now with the trouble at work I couldn't go. I was just wondering if anyone could give me a good starting point. Thanks.

if you are only going for the meat and you are traveling further than 50 miles dont waist your time and go buy 300 dollars worth of beef. that is if you are after meat if your just wanting to kill something cause its the last hunt of this year and want some meat than let me know il send you a pm. if you are wondering where i came up with 300 it is gas, your eats, and butcher fee that alone will be 150 to 200 bucks and your going to spend a lot of time driving around. there are elk in s l c but not very many im not even sure when the last time was that i saw an elk, however my buddy was up there few days ago and had a bull 60yds from him but could not get a good shot on him. that is the only elk i have heard of this year.

Sorry I'm confused about what you're really asking. Are you hunting the Wasatch or the La Sal's?

I wanted to hunt the Wasatch"s extended archery elk season for a cow elk. I was trying to get some info before making a decision to go up there blind and freezing and try and get one with stick and string. I had heard that the elk were abound there in the late season, and I am only hunting for meat. I could buy it at the store....but what fun is that?

I usually hunt the La Sals. Problems with work cut that trip.
