Wheither or not I'll be hunting sheep depends on the FWP computer gods for the drawing. I have max "bonus points" which only means my name will be entered into the drawing that many times, like everyone else with that number of points.
i'll be hunting the unlimteds. i want to get out there and learn more about sheep hunting before i draw a better tag in utah or oregon (no bonus points used in OR). if i can find any legal ram, i'm taking it, even if it's just barely 3/4 curl.
i'll be staying around red lodge. hopefully, with one of my buddies. hope there is a good bar or two to hang out in after we tag out
if you're a resident, why don't you try out the unlimited as well? unless purchasing a unlimted license cancels your preference points. i know the chances of harvesting a ram are like 3%, but it's worth it for me just to learn how to hunt them before i burn the tag i've been getting my preference points for in another state.
plus, i'll bring along my fly rod and just have fun with it. i have no clue why millions don't do this every year.
Hunting can be slow and frustrating if Mother Nature throws a warm hunting season at you. But things can take a drastic turn for the better with the onset of a cold snap. Whether you get snow or just a good, prolonged cold front, the hunting can improve on a dime. But cold whether can also make certain parts of the hunt more tedious. Here are some things to keep in mind when your prayers for cold weather finally pay off.
You can see a your quarry's breath when it is cold outside...
