Anybody going to Arizona for Dec / Jan Archery Mulie Hunt
Well my buddy went to scout the area we are going to hunt on dec11 which was opening day late archery and he seen about 80 deer mostly does and small bucks. Then just before dark big daddy came out to play. Got my friend all pumped up or mostly jacked up. He said there was two bucks about 26" to 28"ers withen 60 yards of him and he left his range finder in the truck, so he field judged the 28"er at 50 yards slung a arrow and missed, he said the buck took five steps and stoped giving him a second chance, he nocked another arrow and rushed the shot and choked. Sounds like were going to have a good hunt in a couple of weeks. He is probibly out wright know . i will update his hunt this weekend if he calms down and scores.
There can be too much of a good thing with antler rattling.
I like to hit the horns together for a good 30- to 40-second rattling sequence and then hang them up and resist the urge to hit them again.
This works to the hunter's advantage, because if a buck has heard it, he may have been 300 or 400 yards away and he comes in and he's not exactly sure where it came from.
When finally is time to rattle again throw a slight change-up into the routine.
The second time, don't rattle as loud...
