Is anybody else getting stir crazy waiting for the CO draw resluts?

This year could be a good one for hunting in our house.  I have put in for a RFW cow tag, and RFW doe prongy tag, a 2nd season buck tag and will hopefully also pick up a leftover doe tag.  My son has put in for a doe tag on the Academy and an RFW cow tag at Kiowa Creek.  It is entirely possible that we will have 5 separate seasons to hunt from SEP through DEC.  I am very excited but this wait is KILLING me :)  I hope to refill the freezer this fall and maybe send a few hides to get tanned.  Anyone else in the same boat?

We usually plan for several

We usually plan for several hunts every year with 1-2 hunts each month from September through January. Besides Colorado we hunt in Wyoming (for antelope) and Nebraska (for whitetails). The past several seasons my son and I have gotten out a lot!

This year, my son and I were going with the same plan (for the most part) when my daughter, who just turned 12 today, decided she was finally going to do her hunter safety class and wanted to go big game hunting too. Besides being excited, it made choosing hunts a bit more challenging. I am a strong believer in taking my kids hunting in a 1-on-1 situation so I can focus my efforts on them and getting them into the animals. I don't even want a tag in my pocket when I take my son hunting. It's all about him and his opportunity.  It will be the same priority for my daughter too this year.  Both of the kids will get separate elk hunts...besides my own elk hunt...or more if I can find leftovers and fit them into th calendar.

Needless to say, I'll hopefully be getting out for 3 separate hunting seasons for elk and maybe even a muzzle elk hunt (if the leftovers are there) and a late season for one, or both, of my kids. It's going to be kind of nuts for a couple of months. But a good kind of nuts.

I have a 100% chance for the

I have a 100% chance for the elk and bear tag I put in for. Only a 50% chance for the muley tag, but I can do without that one, because I can buy an OTC whitetail tag later in the year for my unit. So, i'm not going crazy waiting.

I got over the wait by going

I got over the wait by going over to Utah for a turkey hunt with my brother in law.  My sister can't stand the cold and he couldn't talk any of his grandsons into going with him so I was elected.  We did manage to seen quite a few elk that have some nice antlers already along with quite a few mule deer.  We even went fishing for a couple of days, once for catfish which wasn't too good and the other time for trout which was about the same.

We did however managed to get him a jake on the last day Thursday and had a bbq with turkey meat as the main course last night.  Now to relax for a couple of weeks and wait for the Utah draws and the persuing credit card hits starting in the middle of May.  It is my hope that I'll have a few less dollars by this time at the end of May.

This is the date they gave me for the actual draw date for Moose. May 8-9th and then posted on the 30th. So, maybe by the 15th I will know.

It is done, but due to

It is done, but due to problems they have said that nothing will be posted until May 30.  They started to update preference points and then yesterday they pulled it all off of the web site.  We can always hope for sooner but why worry?  If you drew you drew if you didn't you didn't.

backdoor

On the "backdoor" I saw that I pulled a PP as expected and my boy got his doe tag to hunt on the Academy. I am excited to see how that hunt goes as I am saving my deer points for a buck tag there as of now. He will get to hunt all of December.
