Any Tips for hunting bear?

Trying to get my first bear this year. Of course there's no baiting out here in Oregon so I have to resort to other means. Any tips on what those might be would be greatly appreciated. I've found the main water source on the land of hunting and was watching over it on Saturday morning but didn't have any luck. Are there maybe any calls that you guys would suggest I try? Scents? Any other tactics?

Thanks and Go Ducks!

I would check with Fish & Game about scents. In WA scents fall under baiting and that is against the law. I primarily call for bears, but others are successfull watching berry patches and other food sources.

Here is a link to some bear calling info. http://hunting-washington.com/calling-bears.htm

Just tracks are all I've seen around the watering hole. I've been thinking of trying a predator call. Anybody had success with these on bear?

Thanks

Yes. Been calling bears for almost 15 years. I posted a link above.

I read most of that. That's what has me leaning toward calling. Thanks to everyone for the advice.
