The bears have recently
The bears have recently expanded into my area, so therefore, the season is only 1 week long. Other parts of the state have seasons that last for 2 months b/c of an abundance of bears. Depends on where you go hunt them. I can travel to hunt other places but finding land to hunt is the problem. Most all of the good bear hunting land is tied up in leases.

Yea, no spring season here.
Yea, no spring season here. They scrapped it in the 70's, hunters were killing too many bears. Also made hunting over bait illegal but houndsmen can put bait out to keep bears in the area, just can't hunt over the bait.

I don't have a tag this year but one of my bro-in-laws does. He found some pretty good sign but hasn't seen one yet.

Do the bears in your hunting
Do the bears in your hunting area tend to stay in one place or do they roam for miles on end?
Here, in eastern NC, they pretty much stay in the same general area. In the mountains, they roam more in search of food.

From what I've seen they'll
From what I've seen they'll hang in an area till the food runs out. then they'll go look for more. I've had the same bear in the same area for 3 yrs now, havent seen him in person but have pics from my cam.
