Just got my pictures back from 1 hour photo place and I have an unidentified furry creature. Does anyone know if bobcats or badgers live in N Minnesota.
Had the photo place put the pics on CD when I get it back I'll post them
Well, I can tell you for a fact that there are bobcats in northern Minnesota. They love the thick brush and heavy timber of the northern half of the state. They are rarely seen, but you can usually find a set of tracks in the snow in heavy brush/timber. Not sure about badgers in this state. I've yet to see one or see signs of one......but who knows for sure?
I also am from Northern Minnesota, and yes indeed, Badgers do live in Northern Minnesota as several years ago I caught one in a wolf trap.
W/O a picture, it is hard to tell, could have been a bob cat, coon, porcupine, even a skunk???
Hunting can be slow and frustrating if Mother Nature throws a warm hunting season at you. But things can take a drastic turn for the better with the onset of a cold snap. Whether you get snow or just a good, prolonged cold front, the hunting can improve on a dime. But cold whether can also make certain parts of the hunt more tedious. Here are some things to keep in mind when your prayers for cold weather finally pay off.
You can see a your quarry's breath when it is cold outside...
