Any Cali. hunters?

Another CA hunter here. I live in the Oakland/Bay area. I grew up hunting the d-3 zone, but gave up on it about 5 years ago. Used to be a great place to hunt, but not any more. Bear and Puma have taken over there. We also used two man drives with dogs, but it got to where you rarely got a single bark out of the dogs. That area will always be special to me, its where I got my hunting roots. My Grandpa started takin me up there when I was 7.

I am now 32, and hunt in B-6. Some nice bucks in that area (we never come home without at least 1 buck), but alot of hunters too. My daughter is 10 and just passed the hunters safety test. She went hunting with me the last couple seasons and really took to it. Season after next she will get to hunt with me. I cant wait! My boy is 6, and will be next. Hunting in CA can be difficult at times, but its the best sport in the world.

BuckKIllerDeluxe,
I am from Marysville CA. I have always hunted the B zones out of Willows and Corning, but this year I am hunting D3-5. I am mostly focasing on the river bottoms in my area, and let me tell you, you cant find a more challenging hunt than public Fish and Game land in that dense vegitation(shotgun&archery only). I am going to go up by Chester this Labor Day weekend but there are more deer down in the valley, just harder to hunt.

Native Born Californian

I'm a native born Californian from Torrance. I've bird and rabbit hunted hunted for over 40 years. Last year I went pig and deer hunting for the first year and was able to bag a deer and a pig (guided pig hunt). I'm retired and intend to keep hunting while my health holds out.

SoCal Hunter

Big smile I reside in Torrance, CA and hunt Deer, pigs and birds. I also spend a lot of time on my 24' fishing boat. Although the lunatic fringe tree huggers are constantly trying to reduce our hunting and fishing opportunites, it's still OK at this time.

I'm new to hunting. I'm from San Jose. Can anyone recommend a good place...public land or inexpensive private land to go hunt on?

Thanks!
