Hey

I'm a newly licensed hunter, but have it in my blood. I'm here in Los Angeles, and plan on doing some bird hunting to start and go pig and deer to follow. If there are any reccomendations within an hour or two I love to hear them. It's great to see hunters in California. (I'm orig from Winnipeg, MB)

Hey.

The nickname just stuck when I was a kid, and luckilly I nabbed all the domains. Winnipeg is too cold for me. I decided I don't want to live anywhere that I have to plug my car in at night to stop the oil from solidifying =)

Some of my earliest memories are helping my neighbors feather the ducks that were harvested. A smell that still is with me 25 years later.

I've been here for alost 20 years now, except for a year in 92 where I thought about moving back. I stayed 1 day short of a year. Damn cold, but Damn BEAUTIFUL.

Just cant take the country out of the boy.

I'm very new to the hunting scene personally, but have always had great interest. I just picked up a Benelli Super Black Eaglt 28" and I am in love. I went to the range and WOW !!! Worth every penny I put aside for it. I also have a Marlin 1894 44Mag (originally purposed for boar, but maybe not now). The rest are pure fun. SKS, SIG P228, and my Great Great Grandfathers 22 cal Winchester 1902 that will be passed to my sons(s) at the right age.
Damn... Nown I'm all sentimental and WAY of Topic. I can be reached at greg_at_meatplow.com. Maybe we can get together and do a little harvesting. I look forward to some other conversations.

Thanks.

Greg aka Meatplow

ps. What is your favorite game to pursue/harvest and what are your weapons of choic3?

Thanks again.

Here from Central Cali. Hunted D8 this year and tag a 5x6 big mule. 2 of us were already tired dragging the monster back to the truck. So took 3 of us to lift him up into the truck. Heads w/ the taxidermist. Gonna get a P/Y rating after he's done. Looks like a trophy this year.

Buckillerdeluxe, I am from vacaville and have been hunting with my grandfather in d-3 and d-4 for about 10 years. My grandfather has been hunting the area for close to thrty years so we have an unfair advantage with my grandpas knowledge of the land. The zone we hunt most is d-3. It is extremely ticky to get a buck out of their. It is very thick with brush and most of it is steep. The deer don't spook far and will circle you staying in the brush out of sight. Most times we hear more deer in the woods than we see. We try to use two man drives and stands to get looks at deer. It is real hit and miss. Actually mostly miss. But i can tell that is why my grandfather enjoys hunting there becasue to kill a buck there is quite an accomplishment. Can be frustraing but challenging and fun. Got to find water. Look at the stats in your California hunting regs and you will see there are plenty of deer but a very low success rate. Oh yeah look out for Bears!
