Antelope Hat Decoy

Here's an article I found on the Bozeman guy who created the Pronghorn hat decoy!

http://missoulian.com/business/local/article_629b2f2a-1918-11df-b2ef-001cc4c03286.html

Sounds like he went through quite the progression of styles before settling on the foam design.

If you do a search on here

If you do a search on here there was a long post about it.  It was quite a few pages long from what I remember along with pictures.

I remember that.  Didn't the guy post photos of humself wearing it, posing with his amtelope?

I recall it being a pretty funny photo and post.  But hey, I have never killed a lope, so I gotta trust what he says, right? Thumbs up

I don't remember if he posted

I don't remember if he posted any pictures of him wearing the hat himself but he did post a video of the manufacture wearing one on a antelope hunt.  That and the trial and err of trying to get a shot off was really interesting.

antelope hat decoys

That guy had a booth in the Hunting and Fishing Outdoor Show in Bozeman last year.

I almost fell down laughing when I passed his booth and saw them wearing those things. What?

Most fun I have ever had

Most fun than I have ever had hunting!!!  Remember it is illegal to use any costume during a firearm season in any state.   The only thing I will do different this year is hold out for the rut.  All I had were doe tags.  Had bucks walk to 20 yards and stare at me for 5 minutes before running off.  It's a blast!  More videos posted on their website.

I would try it if it worked

Huh? It looks hilarious, but I have to say I would try it if it worked.

I might have to get back into

I might have to get back into bowhunting just to give this a try. A part of Colorado is over the counter for archery tags.

I just found out about the

I just found out about the OTC archery antelope tags a few months ago, and I think I will give that a try this year.  Still trying to figure out how to get close enough for it to matter, but I will worry about that later.  Should be fun.
