I agree!

I agree! I'm seeing the wasteful taxing and spending even on a local government level. Every small town/community is looking at ways to tax more, rather than cut back or conserve in some way. That just drives me nuts. In my town foreclosures are up, business is down, so the town is going to impose more taxes on the people that are left working. That is the same mentality we're seeing on a national level. Very exasperating!!

property tax statement

I don't want to imply that the economy isn't bad.  Because it has been in much better shape than it is now.  Your dad is right, we have and are already seeing a lot of what he predicted.  My dad worried and criticized the same thing.  He's 86 yrs old and and all my life knew him as a frugal man with last priority on material things.  He rarely ever spent money he didn't have.  I think the only debt my parents ever had was a mortgage for 30 years, which was paid off over 25 years ago, and maybe a car payment or two, but the car loans were low for them because dad always put a good down payment. What bothers me is hearing how bad the economy is and at the same time bearing witness everywhere I look, to wasteful spending and terrible mismanagement of money.  I see it from school kids to corporations.

We got our property tax statement it showed th borough's expenditures and revenues. This year they are 26 million in the hole that is pretty much representation of every level of gov. You and I have to cut expenses not the civil servants.

Government is the worst

The government is the worst at bugeting money.  They think that higher taxes are the answer to everything.  All of them, Republicans and Dems alike.

What about all the millions of dollars being raised by political candidates who use it during a campaign simply to slander their opponent?  Most of these canidates are great at raising money for that during a race.  But, how come when they get into office all of their brilliance and ability to raise money goes out the window?? It's such a bad economy, but their seems to be plenty of cash for slander!  I'd rather vote for a politician who doesn't waste much money on slander or fancy campaign ads, but uses the media to get his voice heard and promote themselves and their own abilities.  Bad economy my A$$.  We need more people with common sence in office, we need more people from the middle class or working class backgrounds.
