Here is another giant Colorado muley that was taken back in 1951. I was in the taxidermy shop when the deer was brought in and my jaw almost hit the floor. The gentleman that brought it in told me about the deer and when his father took him. It was an ancient mount and he wanted it remounted. Just thought I would share this magnificent muley.
Anybody care to guess the score ? 
With that much mass and the number of points it would be hard to come up with a guess but my guess would be around 240.
The surprising thing about it is the number of heads like this that show up in peoples basements or closets when the home owner passes away. I saw one trophy room in Avon that consisted of more elk, deer, bear, and cats than you could imagine. The owner had a ranch both in Avon and in New Mexico but all the heads and full body mounts were from his Avon Ranch. His dad had homesteaded the ranch here in Colorado in the late 1800's and built his home in Avon in the 30's. It was the type of collection that any hunter would be proud to of had.
My quick guess would be 192 total inches.

Great buck. It's the ones like this that keep us awake the night before the season opens hoping we will be so fortunate when the sun comes up in the morning.
I have seen a few close but not with quite that many points and never on public where I could stalk them.
I love to see big bucks as deer are my number 1 passion for hunting. All the other big game animals are very close but deer hold the special spot for me.

That's an incredible buck. Off the top of my head 256". Makes you wish you lived back when these animals lived long enough to reach their full potential. Great mount by the way Matt does some great work. Did he say where his father got it?

I agree with Critter and some others. there are alot from that time just hanging out in basements or trophy rooms. The rack was never important back then, so they never would consider having it "scored".

That is an awesome buck! For a major non-typical, he almost has a remarkable symmetry. I would guess 245" gross. When do we get to find out what he actually measured? Do we get to find out the general area he was taken from?
