Hello y'all. Just found this forum. I am in East Texas and like to talk with hunters from other states. My hunting last year was interupted by a cancer operation, but things are up and going this year. Good luck to all this hunting season.
Past 2 years have gotten hooked on turkey hunting, but deer still top the list. Someday mulies and elk will be in my sight to. Wouldn't mind finding a way to get a grand slam on turkeys eventually. How bout you?
Same thing here Big on Turkeys and Out of control on the deer! I to would love to start chasing some other game soon. I've had some great offers lately and look forward to trying something new. What kind of Turkey's you chase around there? Mostly Easterns here with some Rio further West.
When calling coyotes, more often than not they will circle on a target they are
coming into and approach from the downwind side. Presumably they do this in
order to align what they smell, with what they are hearing.
This means that you should always have your downwind side camouflaged and have
an open shooting lane. If the area is heavily covered the coyote could come in
take a look and be gone, with you none the wiser.
