Another Knife done

Did this one for a friend who happens to be an African PH in Tanzania.
Do to the Cite treaty laws I wasnt confident that the Zebra inlay sheath would be simple to fly in and out of the country so I made him a working sheath to go along with it. The Zebra inlay is the sheath some of you know I was told from a very well known sheathmaker was impossible to make do to hair on hide. I went ahead and couldnt make it and there it is.
I was going to an 1900`s safari look as his Double rifle is an English rifle from that time period which he still uses as a Professional Hunter.

Blade:Forged W2 high carbon steel
Handle: AAA Grade Ambonya Burl
Fittings:Stacked Nickle Silver
Sheaths: Hand sewn Inlayed Zebra Hide

Due to cites treaty Peg and I were afraid of flying in and out of country so I made a Tiger striped working sheath I threw in. Both are High ride carry pouch style. I was going to a 1900`s turn of the century safari antique sort of look with the inlaid Zebra and still be very functional..

Thanks folks. I go to alot of issue and study on handle shape. I dispise a knife that has a grip that makes your hand tired and many do. Most just dont use a knife enough to know it when they have a cruddy knife.I didnt think many would notice  but I often have people say " its beautiful but man it feels great" nice to have it noticed.

I actually last night finished a Mule deer handled knife with damascus guard and buttcap that is  really a special one. Its forsale to open public which is rare for me to do as most I do are make specifically for a custom order. Ill post some pictures of it this weekend and if your interested lemme know,I can build a sheath and get it some someone by rifle season opener I would think.

That is awesome. You must

That is awesome. You must have done that a time or two ha. Must be nice having buddies that are African PH's. Did you trade him a hunt for the knife. Sounds like a fair trade for work that nice. You should get pictures up of some of your other work. I would love to see it.

Thanks, No I would have to

Thanks, No I would have to come up with alot more then he paid for this set to hunt DG with him. He wouldnt charge me but its very expensive for Outfitters to put on a hunt in Africa just as I couldnt really Outfit and guide N.A. big game hunts for him for free.

If you look in my albums in my profile here or my website www.highcountryknives.com youll see plenty of other goodies. I make hard use knives and gear that I hope is nice enough to pass down the generations but made for the everyday bluecollar person.
