AMU 20 archery hunt

I was hoping someone could give me a little help. I'm going down to scout the 12th and 13th of July and was hoping someone point me in the right direction. I'm not looking for anyone to reveal thier honey holes just a little advice on where to focus my scouting efforts.

This is a good unit for antelope. Did you draw the rifle or bow hunt?

I drew the bow hunt. Seems to be a lot of private in between the two stretches of the Cibole NF. Do you know much about the area tone?

I have seen tons of antelope off of highway 107 going through monteciello, NM. There are some stretches of private land but there it also alot of BLM land to look at. I would start from the Magdalena exit and work your way south of the highway driving down the forest and blm land roads. The country varies but most of antelope are in the wide open country. Its going to be very hot during that hunt so spot and stock may be difficult. I would suggest finding water holes and using them to hunt. Hope this helps.

That was pretty much my intent was to try and find water I just wasn't sure what part of the unit to focus on. Spot and stalk is pretty tough on these speed goats anyway but can be done if needed it's not the heat that gets to me as much as the rattle snakes!!!! Thanks for the info I had been looking at Hwy107 and thinking about just taking of south out of Mag. I also noticed a lot of BLM in the northern part of the unit near the big array have you been around there much?
