Re: American Capitalism Gone With a Whimper

I'm not sure what to make of this article, I don't think pravada.ru is associated with the print version of Pravda, if it even still exists. The blog post first appeared here:

http://mat-rodina.blogspot.com/

Presumably the guy is russian, but he maintains a blog in english on an american server. Many pages of diatribes against the west and non-Christians. I like the ending to this post:

http://mat-rodina.blogspot.com/2010/03/swine-flu-ultimate-racket.html

Quote:
However, considering the long list of the past 100 years of Western created and designed scams, rackets and catastrophic (Soviet Revolution, Great Depression, Rise of Hitler, WW2, Cold War, Asian Flu, Rape of Russia, Great Depression 2, Global Warming and such things as Eugenics in general)....

Think

The U.S. of A has problems there is no doubt, but we are a long way from Marxism and I cringe at whatever vision of a fitting government this guy could come up with. I doubt it would have very much to do with the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Re: American Capitalism Gone With a Whimper

There is another tactic out there that's been used since the dawn of mankind, and this one fits the bill. It's called destruction of self-worth or destruction of self-confidence. Allow someone or something to destroy your mind and self-worth and you won't ever amount to anything. Lots of foreigners are trying that tactic against the USA by telling us just how much on the downfall we are, making it sound like all hope is lost. It tends to cause a bit of chaos in the minds if diehard Americans. We can use this as a reason to give up and dispare or we can use it as a wake-up call to get ourselves back on track. Nothing wrong with a little outside criticism, nothing wrong with it at all, as long as we use it to our advantage. There may be change for the worst happening all around us, but we are not that far away from generations who knew better and proved it by thier contribuitions in building a nation. A lot of Americans must be fed up with this change too. Political parties like the Libertarians and the Tea Party are growning and those numbers have to be coming from somewhere. Increased numbers in those parties means decreased numbers in both dems and Reps. I think a lot of America realises what is happening and want America back.

If the good old USA is such a bad and evil place then ask these foreign people why they flock here by the millions. Why is everyone so eager to come to this country if it's as bad as the world thinks it is. It may not be perfect, but it's the best thing going. That's why!!!

Re: American Capitalism Gone With a Whimper

I received this via email about a year ago. I have since read some of Mishin's blog posts and I'm not fond of the guy. He's constantly railing against the west. If he indeed lives in Russia, they have plenty of their own problems - and he should be worrying about his own backyard. If he lives here, then he's a hypocrite. His writing is arrogant and full of doom & gloom. He has a very warped sense of what the "west" is about. He admits to getting his education about America online and from youtube!

Yes, we have problems, but we're a long, long way from being anything like Russia was under communism. They killed, brutalized and tortured their own people and many neighboring countries under their rule. Americans truly do not know how horrific it was.

This is a quote about himself on his site:

Quote:
Thus, it is quite obvious that we, the Russian people are not, have never been, nor ever shall be, a part of the West.

Thank God – we are Russians!

We can well coexist with the West peacefully and profitably. We can even make friends with you, but please do neither lecture us, nor interfere with our affairs. Amen.

He's telling us not to interfere in Russia's affairs, well he can keep his opinions about us to himself as well.

Our country is experiencing some serious problems right now, but it will get better. We can vote and we have freedom of speech. Captialism may have gotten bonked over the head by the current admin, but it's far from dead. We sure don't need some crazy Russian telling us its hopeless!

Western hunter you are right on this point ,the problem is we now have a president who has joined the foreigners on this exact tactic by trying to make up excuses for what makes this nation so great.

Re: American Capitalism Gone With a Whimper

So now the big questions are: When is your next election, and do you think you can rid yourselves of Obama? Do you think your elected officials realize the true financial situation your country is in, and do you think they are ready to start getting their fiscal house in order?
Here in Canada we endured a couple decades of "liberal lunacy", the difference being our engineered suffering was during better world economic times, and their horrible financial practices were somewhat negated by a combination of our insultingly high taxes, boom time wages, and massive amounts of transfrer payments to the feds from the western provinces.
I sure hope so, because from where I sit I've got to say, things are looking bleak to the S., the EU is about to fail (no surprise there), and Britain appears to be heading willy-nilly back to serfdom, led by a socially engineered judicial systyem that appears to rabidly punish everyone but the criminals.
We may have a Conservative minority government here, but it at least appears there is a combination of enough support for the consevatives (note the small c), and enough discust for the liberals that we have a real chance of a Conservative majority in our next federal election (fingers crossed).
Hard times seem to make at least a portion of past/current liberals start to question the sanity of their party's fiscal choices. That plus the current chosen leader of the liberal party is quite possibly the least respected and most ridiculed politician of Canadian history. Our best hope for a complete return to political sanity is for the liberals to remain loyal to this fool, perhaps your current leader will have the same net positive result. Here's hoping.

Re: American Capitalism Gone With a Whimper

BruceW our next election this November will determine the balance of Democrats & Republicans in the senate & congress. If the anger and turmoil in our country is any indication, I'm willing to bet that Republicans will end up controlling both houses and basically Obama will be a lame duck for the last 2 years of his term. I seriously doubt he will be a 2 term president. He has steamrolled forward with his radical agenda, but people are not accepting this quietly. Too many people are suffering here right now, and I'm afraid it's going to get worse. It won't improve until we replace the liberal idiots running this country and get back to some basics and common sense. We're most certainly not going down without a whimper!!
