Alpine Hiking

A few weeks ago when the weather was hot I went on a hike with my girlfriend and my mom. My girlfriend loves to hike and I love to fish, so we combined them and hiked into an alpine lake above Georgetown. The hike was around 3 miles each way and was very secenic. We had beautiful weather and were treated to an awesome sight- if you look close on one of the pictures below there are about 12 mountain goats standind on the ridgleline. I figure I need to start carrying my hunting pack when I do these to get me in shape for the upcoming season! Below are a few pictures I took. As a side note- if you want more details on the lake shoot me an email (heath.cronquist@gmail.com). I don't mind sharing the lake and any info with others, I just don't want to blast it all over the internet!

It's always nice to get up to

It's always nice to get up to the high lakes and find those great looking cutthroats and they are even better eating.  Too bad you didn't have a large zoom on your camera for those goats.

Many years ago I hiked

Many years ago I hiked Bierstadt and Evans from Guanella pass.  On the way back down from Evans I decided to take a nap high on the ridge before dropping into the valley and back to the parking area.  When I woke up about an hour later ther were goats standing all around from 50-100 yards from me.  They didn't even care when I eventually stood up and started walking.

Thanks for posting the pics.

Unfortunately all I took was

Unfortunately all I took was my iPhone (I decided to pack more fishing gear than anything else). Those cutts sure are fun and fight better than stockers too!
